DEVO came to South By Southwest. Since DEVO saved my life, this is important. I grew up in a dangerous household. I was scared and unhappy. When things came to a breaking point, my friend Elisabeth gave me a crappy home-dub of Duty Now For The Future. She said, “If you don’t like this, I don’t know what to do for you.” I listened to that cassette over and over and over and over. I rowed it out of rough waters on some days, I wore it like armor on others.
Everything is okay now.
