rubber rim wheel
rolls on dropped teeth
crushes expectant smile
to marble-white dust
ruby tongue
lick at the wrecks
gobble the huge wrecks
gulp the black smoke of the wrecks
i’ve learned my lesson, man
slither on the rippled asphalt
now smile is sheathed
stabbing weapon
sleeps
the giant rubber tires
still grind up slabs of the highway
black millstones
make the bread of miles
